A heavy down pour would really turn memorable with piping hot fritters and a cup of hot beverage. These fritters are a little different not only in size but because they can be had as a meal too. They can be eaten like puris along with any gravy dish and is really well appreciated with mutton or chicken gravy dish.
- Split chickpeas 1 cup
- Rice ½ cup
- Onion 1 medium size
- Garlic 2-3 cloves grated
- Ginger 1tbsp grated
- Green chilli 2 finely chopped
- Cumin seeds 11/2 tsp
- Water to grind
- Oil for frying
- Salt to taste
Soak rice and split chickpeas together for atleast 6-8 hours.
Then grind into a fine paste. Beat the batter well before putting the other ingredients.
In this batter put onion, garlic, ginger, green chilli, cumin seeds and salt.
In a deep vessel take oil for frying the fritters . With a help of a laddle put the batter in hot oil. After few seconds it will come up and float. Turn it on the other side. Let the fitters turn goldenish and then take it off. Fry in a medium flame so that it gets cooked from inside too as the size of the fitters are bigger than a normal indian fitter (bhajia).
Serve hot. You can serve this with any chutney, pickle or even any gravy dish like chana gravy, potato gravy or even chicken and mutton.
